CHICOPEE — The City Council and residents voiced their opinions about two hot-button committee reports that ultimately yielded mixed results during the City Council meeting on March 3.
NORTHAMPTON — Play Incubation Collective’s 2026 play development series is underway, giving playwrights the opportunity to receive direct feedback on their ongoing work from theater players and fans.
EAST LONGMEADOW — At the East Longmeadow School Committee meeting on March 2, Mountain View School, Mapleshade Elementary School and Meadowbrook Elementary School presented their mid-year status reports.
SOUTHWICK — The Planning Board closed a public hearing on a request by the owner of Gem Marina at 141 Congamond Road asking it to modify its special permit to allow it to convert four of its transient-use boat slips, which now total 16, to increase the number of long-term slip rentals to 28.
WESTFIELD — On Feb. 19, the City Council approved a series of free cash appropriations totalling $2.3 million that had been requested by Mayor Michael McCabe, following positive recommendations from the Finance Committee, chaired by City Councilor Daniel Knapik.
SOUTHWICK — With one snow event after another over the last two and a half months, the DPW continues to rack up snow removal costs, but as much snow as the town has gotten, there’s a possibility the cost won’t exceed last year’s.
