SOUTHAMPTON — At its Dec. 10 meeting, the Southampton Select Board moved through various topics as it winds up its 2024 agendas.
With only one more meeting this year, the board needed to obligate its remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
EASTHAMPTON — In a decision that Councilor Koni Denham called “a huge mistake,” the Easthampton City Council, at its Dec. 4 meeting, voted to approve incremental raises of about $7,500 a year for the mayor’s salary from 2026 to 2029.
NORTHAMPTON — Suzette French Creperie is the newest addition to Thornes Marketplace and celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Dec. 12.
NORTHAMPTON — Highview of Northampton will be closing its doors effective early next year following approval to do so from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
NORTHAMPTON — The City Council was presented a preliminary report from the Northampton Reparations Study Commission during its Dec. 5 meeting, where the commission explained the research and work accomplished to this point while also seeking more support from the city to further extend its work.
AMHERST — The Senior Center was the gathering spot for an unveiling of a new mural within the center’s community room on Dec. 10 in thanks to a partnership with an Amherst College Public Art and Collaborative Practices course.
