SOUTHWICK — The Select Board agreed during its Nov. 25 meeting to schedule a Special Town Meeting sometime in January to have residents to decide on a request by the Community Preservation Committee to allocate $164,000 of its funds to allow the Historical Society to purchase a piece of property on College Highway.
SOUTHWICK — With the holiday season in full swing, Our Community Food Pantry has been chosen by the Big Y in town to receive a portion of the sales of its reusable bags through the end of November.
SOUTHWICK — Residents gathered on Nov. 11 at the town’s War Memorial to honor Veterans Day and to thank the men and women who have served in the military to keep this country free with a parade and wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial.
The act of giving is the ability to give selflessly and willingly. As the holiday season approaches and folks prepare their to-do list, feelings of gratitude inspires people to reflect and think about others; it’s a reminder that everyday is an opportunity to give.
While voters statewide continue to send Democrats back to Boston and Washington D.C. to serve in the State House and the U.S. Congress, Republican voters in Southwick, Granville and Tolland once again demonstrated why this area is considered one of the reddest in the state.
