Towns receive $200,000 from state for bridge repairs
WILBRAHAM — On Wilbraham’s side, it is known as Cottage Avenue, while Ludlow calls the same roadway Miller Street. Whatever name it goes by, the bridge that spans the Connecticut River and connects the two towns received a boost on May 16 as state Sen. Jake Oliveira (D-Ludlow) presented a $200,000 earmark for the bridge on behalf of himself and state Reps. Aaron Saunders (D-Belchertown) and Angelo Puppolo (D-Springfield).

East Longmeadow Town Council begins budget hearing
EAST LONGMEADOW — After a month of meetings of the Financial Oversight Committee, the East Longmeadow Town Council conducted a public hearing over the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget during its meeting on May 13.
Longmeadow water meter cost reduced for last quarter of FY25, FY26 will see hike
LONGMEADOW — After what was billed as a single-quarter increase to the meter cost component of Longmeadow water bills, the Select Board debated whether to continue with the higher price for the last quarter of fiscal year 2025. Ultimately, the board decided the fiscal benefit was not worth going back on its promise to water users.
