LUDLOW — Of the 12 articles brought before Ludlow’s Oct. 7 Town Meeting, five provoked debate and controversy, but perhaps none more so than the recommendations to change the town’s form of government. Voters rejected the measure 41-29.
U.S. Rep. Richard Neal (D-Springfield) is a well-known name in Massachusetts. Nadia Milleron is not, and as a candidate for the 1st Congressional District, she is outraged by that.
EAST LONGMEADOW — This year’s Celebrate East Longmeadow event will take place on Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Center Field. The annual event will feature new organizations and activities for families to enjoy.
LONGMEADOW — For 30 years, a group of Longmeadow residents has raised money to help bring programs to patrons of the Richard Salter Storrs Library. As it looks to the future, the organization wants to focus on programs and fundraisers that bring the community together.
SPRINGFIELD — The park in Stearns Square dates from the end of the 18th century, a green oasis in downtown Springfield. But amid the large trees, manicured grass and brick paths is a jagged hole surrounded by yellow sawhorses — all that remains of a long, pink granite bench that sat on the site for 137 years. And the residents want it back.
