WILBRAHAM — At the Jan. 6 Select Board meeting, the board members expressed hesitation about the 2025 Wilbraham Hill Climb. Organizers Jeff DeMarey and Edward Cenedella came before the board on Jan. 13 to answer questions and try to allay concerns.
LONGMEADOW — The Longmeadow Select Board discussed the possibility of parting ways with Hampden Country Regional Retirement System at its Jan. 21 meeting. However, doing so would be complicated and expensive, with no guarantee that the town would fare better on the other side.
State Rep. Angelo Puppolo (D-Springfield) is entering his 19th year in the state Legislature, and he said his primary goal for 2025 is the same now as it has ever been: “fight for every penny” for the people of Western Massachusetts.
LONGMEADOW — Each year, the schools in Longmeadow put together school improvement plans as a guide for the three years ahead. Superintendent M. Martin O’Shea shared the plans with the School Committee and highlighted the ways in which they dovetail into the School Department’s overarching improvement plan.
WILBRAHAM — Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District families upset with the tardiness of buses will have to wait until the start of the 2025-2026 school year before a permanent fix is in place. In the meantime, transportation provider Lower Pioneer Valley Collaborative’s Executive Director Alvin Morton was on hand to answer questions at the Jan. 9 School Committee meeting.
