Monson Memorial Classic returns for 28th year
MONSON — The Monson Memorial Classic half marathon and 5K race will take place this year on Sunday, Nov. 10, with both races finishing at Memorial Hall on Main Street.
Weight limit reduced to 5 tons on Monson’s Bunyan Road bridge
MONSON — At its Oct. 22 meeting, the Monson Select Board voted to reduce the weight limit for the bridge on Bunyan Road from 20 tons to 5 tons due to concerns with the bridge’s condition.
Monson ends Siemens energy management service contract
MONSON — At a joint meeting of the Select Board, Finance Committee and School Committee on Oct. 21, the Monson Select Board voted to terminate the town’s energy management service contract with Siemens in favor of conducting the required reports in-house with support from less expensive resources.
Hampden County Sheriff’s Office awarded traffic safety grant
LUDLOW — The Hampden County Sheriff’s Office was recently awarded $17,140 through the State Agency Traffic Safety Grant Program for use toward supporting traffic safety initiatives by local police departments.
Senior Center, new Town Hall space among Hampden Town Meeting warrant items
HAMPDEN — Hampden’s fall special Town Meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Thornton W. Burgess School. At this meeting, residents will have the opportunity to vote on 21 articles.
