SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Museums hosted its annual Oktoberfest on the Quadrangle on Thursday, Oct. 3. The event offered the opportunity for visitors to sample works from local and regional breweries and homebrewers.

EAST LONGMEADOW — The East Longmeadow Fire Department will host its annual open house on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 12-3 p.m. at the fire station, beginning its support of nonprofit National Fire Protection Association’s annual Fire Prevention Week.
SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield City Council received good news on Sept. 16 in the form of a $6 million grant from the federal Forest Service. The Speak for the Trees Grant program will help pay for the safety, maintenance and management of the urban forest, and the planting of over 6,000 trees.
LUDLOW — Ludlow is celebrating its 250th autumn with a classic New England fall fair, Falling into Fun, organized by the Ludlow 250th Committee, will offer food, seasonal activities and entertainment.
