SPRINGFIELD — Students from Agawam High School huddled around a table inside the dome at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, wrapping twine around toilet paper tubes sandwiched between two flat sheets of cardboard. The tubes gave the structure internal support, while the twine compressed the pieces of cardboard into a solid platform.
WESTFIELD — For years, the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission has been developing a vision for improving operations at its West Parish Water Treatment Plant, but as U.S. Sen. Ed Markey noted, “A vision without funding is a hallucination.”
SPRINGFIELD — The rain could not dampen the spirit in Springfield on Sunday, Oct. 13 as some of the world’s biggest and brightest basketball stars shined in a gathering and celebration at Symphony Hall for the 2024 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony.
With less than a month to go before the presidential election, local voters eager to cast their ballot can do so before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Those registered and wishing to participate in early in-person voting hours may do so by simply visiting the polling locations at the dates listed.
EAST LONGMEADOW — This year’s Celebrate East Longmeadow event will take place on Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Center Field. The annual event will feature new organizations and activities for families to enjoy.
