WESTFIELD — Before the Show Choir began its program at the Fort Meadow Early Childhood Center on Dec. 9, Director Korey Bruno introduced her students to the preschoolers.
“My name is Mrs. Bruno, and I brought some of my favorite students to sing Christmas songs,” she said. Accompanying her were Autumn Estee, Amber Turner, Shresta Rai, Lanah Woody, Samantha Doiron, Ethan David, J.J. Bonilla, Luke Bulan and Aaron Boyd.
The choir’s five song-program began with “Let It Snow,” then “Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland.”
Bruno introduced the next song about a special reindeer, and the children all shouted out “Rudolph!” She said in this song, “Run Rudolph Run,” all Rudolph wants for Christmas is an electric guitar, and asked the children to accompany the choir on air guitars.
“This is my favorite event of the year,” said Fort Meadow Principal Jonathan Scagel. He said the Show Choir has come to the school every year since he started four years ago.
This was the first school stop for Bruno and the Show Choir this season. They planned to visit a few more schools after the Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Dec. 13. They also sang at the Christmas tree lighting along with the Pep Band directed by Patrick Kennedy on Nov. 30 in the Elm Street Plaza.
The Westfield High School Winter Concert, which is free and open to the public, is on Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the school.
Bruno said the Show Choir will also perform at The Tavern Restaurant on Friday, Dec. 20, Saturday, Dec. 21 and Monday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.
