ENFIELD — Haya Sushi opened its second location in Enfield at 111 Elm St. in the former Denny’s building in Elm Plaza.

Owner Terence Zhao said, “Haya Sushi is an all-you-can-eat restaurant without a buffet. Guests check off dishes they’d like to order, and our servers bring them to the table after they’re freshly made. No buffet lines, no stale food, just delicious, all-you-can-eat Japanese cuisine.”

Haya Sushi Enfield hosted a soft opening on Friday, Oct. 25.

“Our soft opening weekend had a wonderful turnout. We met a lot of new faces, and even saw some of the guests from our Springfield location stop in to support us,” Zhao said.

Haya Sushi’s first location in Springfield, at 1203 Parker St., is still open for business.

They expanded into Connecticut because guests from the Springfield location wished they didn’t have to drive so far to have Haya Sushi.

“Enfield doesn’t have a sushi restaurant, so we decided to bring Haya Sushi to the Enfield community,” said Zhao. “We wanted to satisfy peoples’ sushi cravings, while offering them a dining experience that is unique to the area. Haya Sushi offers over 40 non-sushi dishes, including appetizers, hibachi, teriyaki, soups, salads and desserts, so there is something for everyone.”

Enfield resident Carmella Corey learned about Haya Sushi when she and her friend wanted sushi, but they wanted to try a new place and stumbled across the Springfield location while driving.

Corey said, “Haya is amazing. They have the food coming out in staggered times, so you don’t feel overwhelmed or rushed in what you order.”

She continued, “They also are very good with pricing and understanding people are there to eat, talk and spend some time with friends there.”

Corey shared that she is excited Haya Sushi opened in Enfield because it is five minutes away from where she lives. Plus, she loves sushi and never gets tired of it.

“I think Haya will introduce a nice mix of fast, but nicely paced experience to Enfield,” she said. “I’ve been in Enfield for about two years now and it’s a very fast-paced, busy town. I think Haya will remind people to slow down and relax to enjoy time together more.”

Haya Sushi Enfield will offer the same pricing and menu as the Springfield restaurant. It will only offer dine-in for the time being.

The new establishment hopes to have an official ribbon cutting grand opening and expand their services to include takeout as well as delivery via DoorDash, UberEats and Grubhub.

Haya Sushi Enfield is open seven days a week, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9:30 p.m.
