ENFIELD — Smith & Son Jewelers’ Enfield location has moved to 151 Hazard Ave. Unit 14, in the same strip as Lulu’s Restaurant.
“We are very excited for our new location,” said jeweler Thomas Cardano. “We know that we can do good work and do good things for the community. We are open. We’re hoping to do a grand opening sometime in September. We’re doing a soft opening now as we get everything set up.”
Smith & Son Jewelers is a family jeweler and watch repair company that has been in the Springfield area since 1918. Their services include jewelry repair, watch repair, engraving, restringing and appraisals for insurance purposes.
They repair all types of watches ranging from quartz to fine mechanical movements, as well as work on all pocket watches and wristwatches such as Accutron, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Hamilton, Ebel, Raymond Weil and Breitling.
Cardano told Reminder Publishing the phrase they have at the company is, “We don’t sell diamonds; we help you buy them.” The reason behind picking that phrase is if you were to come in for a wedding band or engagement ring, they sit down with you, figure out what you are looking for, then they would try and cater everything toward that.
“We want to build a relationship with our customers,” Cardano added. “We try and figure out what it is that you like and then we try and work off on that. We deal with diamond wholesalers that will wholesale us diamonds and we also have our own supply of diamonds within the stores.”
He went on to say, “Our goal is to continue to help the community out with anything that they’re looking for. We plan to come in everyday, do the best work that we can and be as polite and courteous to everybody that walk into the doors as we possibly can.”
Smith & Son Jewelers’ Enfield location hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Springfield location is at 735 Sumner Ave.
