NEW BERN, NC – Eileen Jeannette (Shaw) Boehm, 76 of New Bern, NC, formerly of Venice FL, Granville MA and Simsbury CT, was sent to her eternal home unexpectedly on August 17, 2025. She was born November 7, 1948, in Hartford CT, a daughter of the late Lafayette W. and Grace H. Shaw.

Eileen is survived by and missed by her husband of 56 years Russell Keith Boehm (Keith) and two sons, Mathew Stephen of Clarkdale, AZ and Michael Benjamin of Rocky Mount, NC; a sister Irene H. Shaw (Richard Wilber) of New Bern, NC and a brother James H. Shaw (Lisa) of Sand Springs, OK, as well as a niece, Jennifer L. Olszewski (David) of Windsor Locks, CT and nephews James E. Shaw (Ruth) of Middletown, MD and Jason C. Shaw of Goshen, CT and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Charles L. Shaw of Granville MA, a nephew L. Timothy Shaw and a niece Tammy L. Larsen.

Raised in Simsbury, CT, Eileen enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation from high school and trained as a Hospital Corpsman. Her first duty station was at the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where she met and married the love of her life, Keith. After her time in the Navy, Eileen began raising her family and returned to school to continue her medical training. She received her MSN in nursing from Old Dominion University. Eileen lived a busy and fulfilling life as the wife of a Naval officer, mother of two loving sons and as a devoted nursing professional. Eileen’s nursing career spanned several decades serving in the specialized areas of ICU, ER and Hospital Administration.

A graveside service and burial will be held in Granville, MA at the Silver Street Cemetery on Saturday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. The graveside service is limited to FAMILY ONLY due to limited space and parking at the cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Granville Federated Church Fellowship Hall, 16 Granby Road in Granville, MA from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m.
