Over 100 Children benefit from Somers Holiday Toy Shop

SOMERS — With private donations and successful stuff-a-cruiser events, the Somers Holiday Toy Shop is set to be a success this year. The toy drive, organized by Somers Human Services, allows families who need a little extra help this season to come and shop from the collected toys to give to their children.

Seniors invited to 50th annual Christmas banquet

SOMERS — For the last 50 years, the Somers Knights of Columbus Council 4303, Lions and Rotary Club have joined together to offer a Christmas banquet to the town’s senior citizens — an event that brings them together for an afternoon of talking, connecting and a turkey feast.

For those ready to get the holiday season started, the Ladies Aid Society of Somersville Congregational Church is hosting its annual Holiday Treasures event on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Wreath donations needed to honor veterans in Somers

SOMERS — The town of Somers, along with towns across the United States, will celebrate National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 14, however, more than 2,000 wreaths are still needed to be placed on every service member’s grave in all three cemeteries — North, Center and West.

Local church in search of vendors for holiday event

SOMERS — Somers Congregational Church has been a part of the community since 1727 helping those beyond its church doors in need of pastoral and spiritual care. This year, they are looking for more vendors for their Holiday Bazaar; any crafter that makes handmade items.
