WESTFIELD — Several Hilltown businesses were well-represented at the Westfield Farmers Market on July 25.

Tammy and Austin Cressotti, the mother and son owners of Daggers Meadery in Granville, were showcasing their handcrafted honey wine. Austin Cressotti said they have been making mead from their own bee hives for six years, as well as honey and skin care products for the past 12 years. He said Daggers Meadery is open for mead tastings at 35 North Lane in Granville on Thursdays from noon to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Reservations are not required. For more information, call 413-214-5245.

Austin Cressotti also said the meadery hosts live music on some weekends. The next performances will be PB & Co. on Aug. 10, and Acoustic Bandwidth on Aug. 11. Asked about the Viking theme to the business, he said the Vikings were known for making mead.

Tammy Cressotti said this is the first year the business has been featured at the Westfield Farmers Market.

“We love it, it’s a nice way to get our mead out there,” she said, adding their business is only 20 minutes up the hill. “It’s nice and local.”

Russell was represented at the farmers market by Chelsea Hess selling bread and pies made by the Bread Basket, at 815 Blandford Rd. in Russell. Hess said this is her business’ second year at the Westfield Farmers Market. She said they also go to the Holyoke and Amherst farmers markets.

The Bread Basket also sponsors the Classic Grille Burgers food truck at the Westfield Farmers Market, offering six takes on burgers that come with fries and soda, all-beef hot dogs and classic, nacho and chili cheese fries, along with root beer, blackberry and orange sodas.

Dan Fox, who was behind the window on July 25, said the food truck is a new venture by the Bread Basket as of this spring. He said the truck travels to different farmers markets and to different events. Inquiries may be made at classicgrille24@gmail.com or by calling 413-862-0044.

The farmers market is open every Thursday through Oct. 17 on the front lawn of the Episcopal Church of the Atonement, 36 Court St., Westfield, from noon to 5 p.m.
