WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

SPRINGFIELD — The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services is opening a new office in Springfield very soon.

Dubbed “one of the leading fertility programs in the country,” the center is planning to have their new office opened by Jan. 6, according to the center’s president and CEO, Brian Miller; but it may open a few days after that depending on when they are ready.

“There’s a couple of logistical items we have that we have to work on, but it’s January that we’re opening,” Miller told Reminder Publishing.
The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services has been providing fertility care in New England since 1984 and is an academic affiliate of the UConn School of Medicine. The new Springfield office, which will be located at 3550 Main Street Suite 203, will be CAR’s sixth location.

According to Miller, the Springfield office joins the center’s main facility in Farmington, Connecticut, plus additional satellite locations in Hartford, Middlebury, Branford and New London.

“We are excited to open our newest location to better serve patients from Greater Springfield, northern Connecticut [and] Western Massachusetts,” Miller said.

According to the center’s announcement of the new office, CARS will offer new patient appointments, fertility screening and diagnosis, daily monitoring for IUI and IVF cycles and sonohysterograms.

CARS will work closely with people to develop a personalized family building plan, according to its website.

“Whether you are trying to conceive, interested in egg freezing, or want to know more about genetic screening, our reproductive care center can help with the emotional and health care support you deserve,” the site says. “As an academic affiliate of the UConn School of Medicine, we are experts in the latest technologies and treatments in family building and infertility.”

The center stated the Springfield office’s accessibility off main highway routes and its proximity to free parking are major reasons for choosing the 3550 Main St. location.

“Fertility treatments often require multiple trips for care,” Miller said. “At the center, we aim to make fertility treatment as accessible as possible, so our new office is located to provide comfort and convenience to our patients.”

The opening of this office comes on the heels of Baystate Health’s announcement in November that they are officially closing its Reproductive Biology Lab.

In a letter sent to the public, the medical center stated that in-vitro-fertilization patients have until Jan. 17 to find other storage for embryos, sperm and egg cells.

Since its inception, the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services has grown into one of the largest fertility programs in the region, responsible for the births of over 18,000 babies and includes over 100 full and part-time staff members as well as nine physicians who are board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

According to the center, Dr. Kelly Lynch, a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist, is currently available to connect with patients via telehealth appointments, as well as for in-person appointments in the Springfield area.

When it opens, the Springfield location will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
