SPRINGFIELD — Hundreds of people came out to Blunt Park over Labor Day Weekend for food, music and community at the 35th annual Stone Soul Festival.

Stone Soul Festival is a free community event that brings musical acts to Springfield each year. Organized by Stone Soul Inc, a nonprofit, the festival presents three days of musical acts. Among the musicians featured this year were NuEnglish, The Manhattans, Buddah Black, Jo Sallins.

Some of the acts were local, such as Michelle Brooks Thompson, Malado and Tswan & Talynt. Blocks of time on the second day of the festival were set aside specifically for local talent and dance schools.

The last day of the festival, a Sunday, included Praise in the Park and a gospel concert.

Vendors selling barbecue, fish and lemonade lined the edge of the park.
