WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

With the Sept. 3 State Primary election just around the corner, early voting in East Longmeadow, Hampden, Longmeadow and Wilbraham will begin on Aug. 24.

Through this process, registered residents can vote in-person at a specified location in their hometown prior to the Sept. 3 election. With dates and locations varying between towns, Reminder Publishing consolidated a list of vital early voting information for residents to review.

If residents do not attend early voting, they are still able to participate in regular voting on Sept. 3 at their assigned polling location.

Absentee ballots and mail-in voting are also options for this election. These ballots must be requested by Monday, Aug. 26, and submitted by Tuesday, Sept. 3. Mail-in ballots can be tracked online at sec.state.ma.us/divisions/elections/voting-information/vote-by-mail.htm.

For residents who are not registered to vote, the final day to register is Saturday, Aug. 24. Registration can be completed at the town clerk’s office, by mail or online at sec.state.ma.us/ovr.

East Longmeadow

In East Longmeadow, early voting is available for registered voters across six days. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Aug. 30, Town Clerk Jeanne Quaglietti said. All residents registered to vote are able to participate.

To vote early, residents should visit the East Longmeadow Public Library Conference Room. Residents will be asked to provide their name and address before receiving a ballot to fill out and seal. If a resident is registered but inactive as a voter, then they will also be asked to provide a photo ID and complete an Affirmation of Current and Continuous Residence form. To remain active, residents must have confirmed their address during the most recent town census, Quaglietti said.
