SOMERS — On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Somers Cultural Commission will celebrate Black History Month with truth seeker Adwoa Bandele-Asante, daughter of the Afrikan Diaspora performing her one-woman live show, “La Amistad: A Fantastic, True-to-Life Journey of Sorrow, Unity & Triumph” at the Somers Public Library, 2 Vision Blvd. from 1-3 p.m.
The new year is here, and the Enfield Public Library and Somers Public Library have several new offerings for the community.
SOMERS — The new year has rung, and the town of Somers is getting ready for some big plans which include new establishments, notable projects and major events.
SOMERS — Mario’s Pizzeria & Ristorante, located at 48 South Rd. in the Southfield Corners Shops, underwent some in-house renovations and added a brand-new bar. They are now serving draft beer, along with a variety of wines, hard ciders and hard seltzers.
SOMERS — With private donations and successful stuff-a-cruiser events, the Somers Holiday Toy Shop is set to be a success this year. The toy drive, organized by Somers Human Services, allows families who need a little extra help this season to come and shop from the collected toys to give to their children.
SOMERS — The Old Mill English Tea Room is spreading some holiday cheer with their Santa Saturdays on Dec. 14 and 21 from noon to 2 p.m. People can come in, have their pictures taken and share a cup of tea with the Christmas icon.
