WILBRAHAM — The Scented Garden Gift Shoppe is celebrating five years of its current ownership.
Wilbraham local Sandy Polom became the new owner in October 2019. Her Five Day for Five Year celebration that started on Tuesday, Oct. 1, will continue through Saturday, Oct. 5, with special vendors in the shop, gifts with purchases and several brands on sale for the celebration during the shop’s regular hours. Plus, John Medeiros, artist and owner of the John Medeiros Jewelry Collection, will be at the shop on Oct. 5 from 12-2 p.m.
“It feels amazing to be the owner of this shop,” said Polom. “I used to shop here often because it was unique and convenient, and the customer service was always top-notch. Owning a gift shop and managing a business was a new experience for me, and these five years have gone by so quickly.”
The Scented Garden has been in town for over 30 years. It’s a gift shop that offers a wide variety of items ranging from home decor, jewelry, accessories, women and children apparel, soaps, picture frames and one-of-a-kind gifts for all occasions. Polom loves what she does. She loves seeing her customers and helping them find the perfect gift for their needs.
“What makes The Scented Garden unique is the quality of products we carry, how we curate them in the shop, our customer service which is a strong point of ours and our complimentary gift wrapping,” Polom said. “I am extremely fortunate to have long time dedicated employees that are very knowledgeable about the products and helpful at working with our customers.”
Polom’s current goal is to continue with the reputation of offering quality products and providing excellent customer service. Her future goal is to keep abreast of trends and the needs of their customers in addition to bringing in new products for men and keeping the store fresh.
“I love my customers,” Polom shared. “The reward for me is the welcoming from the community and seeing repeat customers whether they’re coming back to buy another gift or coming back to share with me how well received a gift was.”
She continued, “It’s getting to know my customers and having that personal connection with them which is really gratifying and makes me feel like I’ve touched their lives in some way, and they clearly have touched my life as well, too.”
The Scented Garden Gift Shoppe is located at 2341 Boston Rd., A110. Their hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the holiday season, the shop will expand its hours and be open seven days a week to accommodate customers’ needs.
